i found a $3 copy of the ringbound better homes and gardens decorating book from 1956 at halfprice books the other day. i think the illustrations are just darling (hi, mom) and there are some really great interiors. i took a few photos to share (sorry about the crappy photo quality). just check out that sectional in the photo below!
this envelope was slipped between the pages, addressed to a mrs. paul h. buck of minneapolis. it's dated 1959. i'm glad to have given mrs. buck's copy of the bh&g's decorating book a new home so close to it's old one.
what a wonderful find. and yes what an awesome sectional but can you imagine trying to reupholster it!
