three books with illustrations by famed decemberists in-house artist carson ellis. just finished the mysterious benedict society, a fun young adult read that I picked up last week because i recognized carson ellis's work, but was particularly disappointed to find out the next book in this new series is not illustrated by ellis. i actually didn't buy it because of this! while the story was good and lovely, somehow the illustrations made it better. judging a book by its cover at its finest!
want to get the composer is dead by lemony snicket and i have the best american nonrequired reading 2007 laying around somewhere.
carson also illustrated the cover of Dislocate #3 for the University of MInnesota!
