Vintage Book // Peter Parnall // Doctor Rabbit

I discovered the amazing work of Peter Parnall in a box of books at a garage sale last year. Doctor Rabbit by Jan Wahl tells the story of the resident woodland physician who takes care of his fellow animal – until he needs some rest himself. Parnall has illustrated over 80 books (Everybody Needs a Rock and The Desert is Theirs are among them), all in his distinct line work and attention to detail.

[More after the jump.]

Wish List: Handcrafted Modern

I'm oohing and ahhing over Wharton Esherick's home, pictured in Handcrafted Modern: At Home with Mid-century Designers. This book is absolutely on my Xmas wish list this year. Author Leslie Williamson showcases breathtaking homes and workspaces the way artists and designers live or lived in them, shooting only with natural light.

Book of books: Jane Mount

Jane Mount has been illustrating voracious reader's bookshelves since 2007 and now has a book of books: My Ideal Bookshelf. These prints and more are available at 20x200. Would it be weird to hang these pieces in your own library? I think not.
