be mine, valentine

happy valentine's day! here are the valentines i made to spread the love this year. i had a stack of vintage transfer lettering and vinyl stickers waiting for the perfect project. envelopes are lined with vintage dictionary pages, hearts are rubber stamped in black and scarlet ink, and i used vintage gold glass glitter for one heart on each card.

lots of love!

what i've been working on

here's a picture of the funny set i made for a spunk design machine project a few weeks ago. that's my man steve guerrilla filming on a home-made camera dolly. it's d-i-y all the way at spkdm.

sneak peek

a quick sneak peek of what i've been working on: new ideas for notecards and prints for my handmade shop (using watercolor). i'm into those fresh greens and yellows - i must have spring on the brain. what do you think?

le wedding map

i did this map to go out with my friend emily's wedding invites. the official pick is the first one, which i think was a good choice. i like the second option, too, but for different reasons. it was super fun to play with a new pen and ink set and put this together, but i should mention that sm assisted in the scanning and assembly. i can't wait to get one in the mail!

shop update!

two new pieces are up in the shop tonight! some original work on these great vintage haskelite trays by yours truly. i'm looking forward to doing more, but i had a heck of a time photographing them (the shine, couldn't scan because of the depth, etc.) but i like how they turned out. take a look!

gifted work

here are some (bad) photos of the work i'm gifting my friend sarah s. i promised her art years ago back when we were baristas and she's hittin' me up for it, so i thought i'd post before they go to their new home. my mom found a stack of these faux wood trays in her basement and thought they'd make good "canvases." i like the end result of this first one, so i'm excited to keep working with them. check the pinkshirtsandcarwrecks shop for updates soon!

shrug - new piece

i added a new piece to the shop last week, called "shrug" because it looks like she has no neck. i'm just going to post every time i add something new. hey, it's my blog. $45 right here.

new work

i've added some new work to the pinkshirtsandcarwrecks shop that i'm pretty excited about. these are the first of (hopefully) many original (let me stress original) mixed media collages. and for only $35. what a steal. check out my shop, more to come soon!

art on walls that are not my own

finally finally a few little pictures of my stuff hanging up at pizza luce. just to give yous guys a taste (ha!) but you'll have to go and see it for yourselves. these aren't on my etsy shop, but if they don't sell this month i'll list them. if you're interested in anything similar or custom, shoot me an email and i'll certainly see what i can do! "deer run" and "private road" ($45/each)
"my heart is in it" and "farm team" ($45/$35)

and i recieved my moo cards in the mail today! they're super cute and turned out really well. i'm really happy with the paper quality, too. i'm a real live professional!

thrift finds + new work

hunting for inspiration at the antique malls this weekend. i found some great stuff, including great flashcards and button cards. just in time, too. i'm working working "working" to pull some stuff out of my ass for this pizza luce thing. i'm sort of burned out tonight, but i have tomorrow night to work, too. thought i'd share some progress:

stella, my little helper.

these pieces will be hung in sets but can be purchased individually. i'm thinking $45 a piece? all vintage ephemera, papers, etc. on wood.

a close up of the last two. let me know what you think so far...i've got about five "sets" finished, about six or seven to go! yikes.
